Fun Games for Baby’s Memory?

by Victoria Richards

Memory is our ability to store information and recall it whenever we need it. Memory emerges, albeit unconsciously, from the moment of birth and evolves as the baby grows.

Memory and learning go hand in hand, therefore, it is very important to stimulate it from a very young age, adapting to the developmental stage in which they are, because many of the stimuli that the child receives will be stored in their memory for the rest of their lives

Tips for boosting memory in early childhood
Games to stimulate baby’s memory

– Establish a secure attachment by attending to their needs affectionately but not overprotectively. It will increase your sense of security and self-esteem, as well as your eagerness to learn.

– Establish routines of feeding, rest, hygiene and play from birth.

-Play peekaboo with your baby, taking advantage of opportunities such as dressing him (permanence of the object).

– Hide toys in various shapes and materials for him to find (boxes, wrapping paper or silver foil, burying objects in sand, etc.) to stimulate all sensory modalities (visual, tactile, auditory).

Children have neither past nor future. They enjoy the present, which very few of us do.

– Show him new objects and situations as often as possible, repeating their names or explaining them to him to help him expand his vocabulary. Ask him to name them if he already knows how to speak.

– Simple puzzles and stacking and fitting toys will help them improve their visual and spatial memory.

– Sing songs to him (kids learn best through song) and read stories to him while he flips through them to help him identify objects and situations, as well as develop logical and temporal reasoning.

– It promotes their autonomy and the search for their own solutions to’minor’ problems in order to improve their problem-solving capacity (for example, allow them to manage only getting a toy that they cannot reach before giving it to them directly).
